Garage Door - Install Technician

Overview

PDQ Doors is seeking a Garage Door Installer Technician to join our Milford, OH team. In this role you will install, service, and repair residential garage doors and openers, ensuring safety and high quality workmanship. You will take measurements, install tracks, springs, cables, rollers, and operators, and perform adjustments to ensure smooth operation. You will conduct safety inspections, balance and align doors, test operation, and provide excellent customer service on job sites.

Responsibilities

• Install new residential garage doors and operators.
• Replace and adjust torsion springs, cables, tracks, rollers, and hardware.
• Perform routine maintenance and repair work on existing systems.
• Read and interpret manufacturer instructions and installation blueprints.
• Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Package and deliver materials required for each job; maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Provide clear communication with customers and complete work on schedule.

Requirements

• 1+ year of experience in garage door installation or related trade (apprentice programs welcomed).
• Knowledge of torsion springs, tracks, cables, rollers, and door openers.
• Ability to lift heavy doors and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to pass a background check.
• Strong problem-solving and customer-service skills.
• Basic reading of manuals and schematics.
