Patent Counsel

📋 Description

• Partner with engineers, scientists, and product leads to identify patentable innovations.
• Lead portfolio analysis, FTO reviews, and clearance with senior legal and outside counsel.
• Support litigation matters with claims analysis.
• Help develop internal IP policies, workflows, and trainings.
• Build scalable processes for patent portfolio management and docketing.
• Translate IP concepts into clear guidance for Legal, R&D, and product teams.

🎯 Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school, USPTO registration, and active state bar.
• 6+ years of patent law and IP counseling, with law firm and in-house experience.
• Technical background in electrical engineering, signal processing, or optics.
• Experience translating inventions with technical teams into patent disclosures.
• Familiarity with patent landscape analysis, FTO, clearance, and coordinating with outside counsel.
• Ability to build processes and improve workflows for a growing IP function.
