Technical Project Manager - Security Services

Overview

OpenZeppelin is seeking a Technical Project Manager for Security Services to lead security-focused engagements for clients and internal teams. This role blends strategic program management with hands-on security expertise to ensure high-quality, timely delivery of security services for blockchain and software projects. You will collaborate with security engineers, product managers, legal/compliance, and external partners to ensure security best practices are followed from planning through delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end security services engagements, from scoping and planning to execution, monitoring, and closure.
• Collaborate with security engineers, product managers, legal/compliance, and clients to define requirements and deliverables.
• Develop detailed project plans, milestones, risk registers, and resource plans; monitor progress and adjust as needed.
• Communicate status, risks, and decisions to stakeholders and leadership.
• Coordinate with third-party security partners, auditors, and testers; manage expectations and deliverables.
• Contribute to the creation and maintenance of playbooks, templates, and checklists for security services.
• Drive continuous improvement by collecting metrics and implementing lessons learned.

Requirements

• 5+ years of technical project management experience, ideally in security, risk, or compliance contexts.
• Strong understanding of security concepts such as threat modeling, vulnerability management, and incident response.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools (Jira, Asana, or equivalent).
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to operate effectively in a distributed/remote environment.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• Willingness to travel if required.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with blockchain security and OpenZeppelin's technology stack.
• Experience with security audits, secure software supply chain, and red-team exercises.
