Role Overview
OpenZeppelin is seeking a Blockchain Security Researcher for future openings. In this role you will work on researching and improving security across blockchain ecosystems, focusing on smart contracts, cryptographic protocols, and secure design patterns. You will collaborate with the OpenZeppelin security team and contribute to open-source projects, publish vulnerability research, and help strengthen the security of the platform and its users.
Responsibilities
- Conduct proactive security research on blockchain protocols and smart contracts.
- Perform threat modeling, vulnerability discovery, and security testing.
- Contribute to security audits and code reviews.
- Develop tools, methodologies, and processes to improve security posture.
- Document findings and share actionable recommendations with engineers and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with researchers and engineers across OpenZeppelin teams.
- Participate in responsible disclosure programs and industry security initiatives.
- Contribute to open-source projects and community security efforts.
Qualifications
- Experience in blockchain security, cryptography, or formal verification.
- Strong knowledge of smart contract languages (e.g., Solidity) and secure development practices.
- Experience with vulnerability assessment, fuzzing, static/dynamic analysis, or exploit development.
- Ability to reason about security trade-offs and communicate complex findings clearly.
- Excellent collaboration and written/spoken communication skills.
- Relevant degree or equivalent practical experience in computer science or related field.
