We’re seeking a Chief of Staff to the Head of ChatGPT, who will act as a strategic operator, force multiplier, and trusted partner to the ChatGPT product leadership team. You’ll help drive alignment across our rapidly scaling organization, ensuring the product team executes effectively on its vision, collaborates seamlessly with partners across Engineering, Design, Marketing, Research, and GTM, and stays focused on what matters most as we build the future of AI-powered products.
This is a highly visible and high-impact role that blends strategy, operations, and execution enablement. You’ll design and refine the operating cadence of the ChatGPT product org, streamline decision-making, and strengthen alignment across key partner functions.
This role is based in San Francisco, CA. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees.
In this role, you will provide:
Strategic Partnership: Help drive clarity, alignment, and follow-through on key priorities across ChatGPT’s leadership team.
Org Operations: Design and run the operating cadence - staff meetings, product reviews, quarterly planning, and OKRs - ensuring crisp communication and accountability across the org.
Cross-Functional Execution: Partner closely with cross-functional leads across Engineering, Design, Research, Marketing, and GTM to ensure product priorities are scoped, resourced, and progressing against key milestone
Decision Support: Prepare briefing materials, synthesize data, and surface insights to support fast and effective decision-making.
Communications: Draft and drive internal communications, product updates, and narratives that keep teams aligned and inspired.
Leadership Enablement: Enable the Head of ChatGPT to scale impact by managing bandwidth, anticipating organizational needs, and driving leadership focus on top priorities.
Special Projects: Lead critical cross-functional initiatives and stand up new workstreams to accelerate product impact, operational maturity, and org health.
What we are looking for:
12+ years of experience in product strategy, operations, consulting, or Chief of Staff roles within high-growth technology companies.
Deep familiarity with consumer software or platform product organizations, ideally at the intersection of AI, productivity, or developer tools.
Proven ability to bring structure to ambiguity, drive clarity across complex stakeholder groups, and translate strategic goals into actionable plans.
Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence, align, and inspire at all levels.
Strong strategic thinking paired with execution discipline - able to zoom out to see the big picture while staying close to details that ensure progress.
Analytical and resourceful, with demonstrated success leading long-term, cross-functional initiatives and driving organizational change.
Mission-driven, with a deep interest in the potential and implications of AI technology and alignment with OpenAI’s values.
