In thiscrucialrole, you willbe responsible formanaging and mentoringan initialteam of professionals withexpertisein Data Analytics and Business Intelligence. You will setthecomprehensive data strategy for the organization, driving business growth by transforming data into actionable insights. This role will oversee our analytics and BI ecosystem, built on bothGoogle and Microsoft data solutions, with a clear roadmap to incorporate and lead theDatascience and engineeringskillsetsin the future.This is a full-time position with hours from 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. Our office is located in Canary Wharf, London, but you are not required to come in and can work remotely from home in the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performingteam of data analysts and BI specialists, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
- Define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Data and Analytics department, aligning it with overarching business goals.
- Establish departmental goals, KPIs, and operating procedures to ensure excellence in execution and impact.
- Champion a data-driven culture throughout the organization by empowering teams with access totimelyandaccurateinsights.
- Prepare to assume leadership of the Data Engineeringand Data Scienceneeds, guiding its integration, strategy, and execution.
Analytics & Business Intelligence:
- Oversee the development of advanced audience analysis strategies toidentifykey demographics, behaviors, and trends,utilizingtools like Google Analytics,Comscore, andSimilarWeb.
- Direct the creation and enhancement of impactful dashboards and reports using BI platforms such asMicrosoft Power BIand Google's data solutions.
- Translate complex data findings into clear, actionable insights and strategic recommendations for executive leadership and key stakeholders.
- Partner closely with content, marketing, product, and sales teams toprovidedata-driven guidance thatoptimizesstrategy, enhances audience engagement, and drives revenue.
Data Strategy & Platform Oversight:
- Architect and oversee the organization's data ecosystem, ensuring the scalable collection, integration, and quality of data from multiple sources.
- Lead the strategic implementation andutilizationof our core data platforms, includingMicrosoftand Google Cloud Platformdata solutions.
- Develop and enforce data governance policies and standards to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security across all systems.
- Continuously evaluate and recommendnew technologies, tools, and methodologies to advance the company's data capabilities.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, ora relatedfield. AMaster’sdegree is a plus.
- Significant relevant experience in data and analytics, plus experienceina leadershiprole managing and mentoring a team.
- Proven experience building and managing high-performing analytics or BI teams, preferably within the media industry.
- Deepexpertisewith modern BI and analytics platforms, including strong experience with bothMicrosoft (Power BI, Fabric)andGoogle (Analytics,BigQuery)ecosystems.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a proven ability to translate complex data into strategic narratives and influence senior executives.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience withData Engineering concepts, including ETL/ELT processes, data modeling, and data warehousing.
- Proficiencywith SQL or Python for advanced data analysis and manipulation.
- Knowledge of digital marketing strategies, content performance metrics, and subscription-based business models.
