The Role

Our ideal candidate loves storytelling and can shape and deliver commercially successful films with broad appeal, bring joy, and grow our member base. They will have a strong sense of editorial judgment, a regional sensibility with a Polish focus, and the ability to guide a production from development, throughout the pre-production and production process, to post-production and launch. They will have a vast network of key players/stakeholders in the market/industry, including Producers, Directors, Writers, Head of Departments, Editors, and on-screen talent.

You should be self-motivated, proactive individuals who think fast on their feet,are flexible and adaptable and put members’ needs first. This demanding and fast-moving role will require a proactive thinker with sound judgment and initiative. You should be able to juggle multiple and diverse responsibilities across projects at varying stages of development. Above all, be self-aware, confident, trustworthy, conscientious, motivated and discerning.

The Manager, Film, CEE, is a key team member who will play a critical role in identifying, developing and executing creatively excellent films helping to build a steady programming pipeline in line with the needs of the CEE Film team.

Key Responsibilities:

actively searching for new ideas, including but not limited to building relationships with producers and creators, trying to grasp a zeitgeist, exploring IP opportunities, both internal (existing Netflix shows from other regions ripe for adaptation) and external ones,

acting as lead creative during the development stage with the aim of delivering creatively excellent scripts that will bring joy to our members,

be an effective collaborator to our producing partners, using previous experience developing and producing creatively excellent films (for the theaters and/or TV),

utilize your talent network, including Directors, Writers, Heads of Department, Editors, and on-screen talent, and maintain excellent relationships with key talent,

work collaboratively with Netflix teams, including Production Management, Post Management, VFX, Marketing and PR,

knowledge shared across EMEA teams on creative wins, learnings and best practices.

Experience:

Functional Expertise: Demonstrated expertise as a functional specialist in the Polish Film Industry with experience in producing from development to delivery.

Media Landscape Insight: In-depth knowledge of the Polish media landscape, with a robust network within the creative community, encompassing both above and below-the-line talent.

Editorial Experience: Proven ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, simultaneously guiding and overseeing multiple projects across various development and production phases – from evaluation to delivery.

Talent Development: Genuine interest and discerning eye for emerging talent, showcasing a commitment to nurturing and promoting fresh voices.

High tolerance for change and a capacity to deliver results in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, eager to learn new skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills: in both English and Polish ensuring effective collaboration and understanding.
