Neko Health is a Swedish health-tech company co-founded in 2018 by Hjalmar Nilsonne and Daniel Ek. Our vision is to create a healthcare system that can help people stay healthy through preventive measures and early detection. Neko has developed a new medical scanning technology concept to make it possible to do broad and non-invasive health data collection that is both convenient and affordable for the public. This requires completely reimagining the healthcare experience and incorporating the latest advances in sensors and AI. We are a remote first company with headquarters in Stockholm and over 300 employees across Europe.

Responsibilities:

  • Legal Advisory: Support the General Counsel and provide strategic legal advice to US operations, engineering, clinical and regulatory teams on a wide range of legal issues including commercial law, data protection, marketing, IP, compliance and acquisitions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to inform strategy and facilitate business objectives, ensuring legal considerations are integrated into planning and decision making.
  • Contract Management: Review and negotiate a range of commercial contracts, including software and technology agreements, supplier agreements and collaborations to ensure they align with company objectives.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks associated with our operations, technology and healthcare services expansion.
  • Compliance: Monitor and advise on privacy and healthcare regulations in the US and other key markets including working with the Global privacy Lead on data protection agreements, terms of service, privacy notices and other data related disclosures.
  • Corporate Governance: Support in the development and implementation of risk and compliance policies and procedures maintaining compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Requirements:

  • Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) from a well-regarded US law school; admission to the New York State Bar in good standing.
  • Experience:
  • 8-10 years of relevant legal experience, preferably within a tech-focused in-house legal team and/or in a leading US law firm.
  • Proven experience in commercial, corporate law and exposure to labor and employment law is highly desirable and other areas including IP and data protection, familiarity with healthcare regulations is a bonus.
  • Skills:
  • Strong negotiation skills with a track record of drafting and managing complex legal agreements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Swedish.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Attributes:
  • Commercially minded and able to deliver innovative and practical solutions at the intersection of law and disruptive technology.
  • Collaborative, team player and persuasive communicator capable of partnering with a range of stakeholders across the business and working closely with colleagues in the Legal team.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate legal issues before they arise.
  • Additional Information

    The annual base compensation range for this role is between $200,000 - $270,000. The successful candidate’s actual base compensation will be based upon a variety of factors, including but not limited to work experience, job related knowledge, skills, and professional qualifications.
