Are you ready to lead a high-impact team that helps bring the dream of homeownership across the finish line?

Neighbors Bank, a fully-remote leading innovator in the mortgage industry, is looking for a servant-hearted leader who can bring structure and calm to a fast-moving, detail-driven environment. If you enjoy mentoring others, streamlining workflows, and stepping in to tackle challenges head-on, this might just be your ideal role.

Our Closing Team Leads play a critical role in the final stretch of the loan journey. They not only oversee the entire closing process (from disclosures to wires and funding) but also empower their team to deliver accuracy, compliance, and confidence for every borrower.

To be considered, candidates should bring proven leadership skills, a strong grasp of mortgage closing processes, and the ability to coach and develop high-performing teams. Management experience is required, and familiarity with regulatory requirements, title work, and funding procedures for FHA and Conventional loan products is essential.

You’ll play a vital role in helping clients achieve the dream of homeownership by fulfilling our vision of changing the way mortgages are done – by making homeownership more affordable, accessible, and achievable

What Makes This Role Exciting?

Lead With Impact: Direct the closing team through the final, most important stretch of the loan process – from disclosures to wires, title work, and funding. Your leadership ensures borrowers achieve the milestone of homeownership with confidence.

Coach and Develop Talent: You’ll mentor and motivate team members, helping them grow into high-performing closers who deliver excellence every day.

Be the Go-To Problem Solver: When unique scenarios or challenges pop up, you’ll be the trusted escalation point who clears roadblocks and keeps the process moving forward.

Remote-First Culture & Flexibility: Join a remote team recognized as a Top Workplace in Financial Services. You’ll collaborate with your team and other departments from where you do your best work – the comfort of your own home.

Compensation & Benefits: Total compensation typically falls between $60k and $75k annually (includes hourly pay and performance incentive bonuses). Comprehensive benefits include health and dental coverage, wellness program, 401(k) match, PTO, paid holidays, monthly WFH reimbursement, and more.

Your Role as a Closing Team Lead
  • Lead and support a team responsible for disclosures, title work, wire/funding, and all things Closing.
  • Coach and develop team members to reach their full potential.
  • Be the trusted escalation point when challenges arise – keeping communication clear and solutions flowing.
  • Stay sharp on compliance, guidelines, and industry updates.
  • Jump in when needed to help close loans and keep things moving.
  • Champion our culture of collaboration, respect, and continuous improvement.

Are You the One?

We’re looking for a leader who brings energy, clarity, and a team-first mindset. You’ll thrive in this role if you:

  • Have proven leadership skills and experience coaching or managing a team.
  • Must have 5+ years of experience as a mortgage closer, plus at least 2 years of prior management experience.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally - even when handling conflict or high-pressure situations.
  • Can motivate, encourage, and guide a high-performing, diverse team.
  • Excel in fast-paced, results-driven environments where deadlines matter.
  • Thrive in cooperative, cross-functional settings where respect is essential.
  • Are comfortable with technology and committed to reliable, predictable attendance in a remote 8–5 schedule.

This isn’t the role for you if:

  • You struggle with managing people or providing constructive feedback.
  • You prefer to avoid conflict rather than resolve it.
  • You’re uncomfortable being the escalation point when issues arise.
  • You find it difficult to balance big-picture leadership with occasional hands-on work (like auditing documents or stepping in to close).
  • You’re not prepared to uphold high expectations of respect, collaboration, and accountability across your team.
