Role overview

As a Staff Software Engineer specializing in Java and Go (Golang), you will design, implement, and scale backend services. You will lead important technical initiatives, mentor engineers, and help shape the architecture of our systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services using Java and Go
• Lead technical initiatives, set technical direction, and provide architectural guidance
• Mentor and coach engineers; perform code reviews and contribute to a strong engineering culture
• Collaborate with product, data, and frontend teams to deliver robust features
• Drive best practices in CI/CD, testing, reliability, and observability
• Operate in cloud environments (e.g., AWS) and container ecosystems (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Optimize for performance, scalability, and security; monitor production systems
• Participate in setting standards for APIs, data models, and service interfaces

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong Java and Go (Golang) skills
• Deep knowledge of Java (8/11/17+) and Go, with a focus on backend systems
• Experience with microservices, RESTful APIs, and distributed systems
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), containers (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes)
• Strong database experience (SQL; PostgreSQL/MySQL) and data modeling
• Solid CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, design patterns
• Excellent communication and mentoring abilities
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent

Nice to have

• Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, etc.) and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana)
• Fintech/finance-domain exposure or relevant industry experience
