Overview

Nearsure is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SSR SDET) to join our remote engineering team. This LATAM Remote role focuses on building robust automated tests and ensuring quality across our platform.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain automated test suites for web/mobile/applications.
• Develop and enhance test frameworks and tools; write reliable end-to-end, integration, and API tests.
• Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, and DevOps to define test plans and release criteria.
• Identify, reproduce, and drive resolution of defects; contribute to root-cause analysis.
• Participate in CI/CD processes, performance testing, and test data management.
• Mentor junior QA engineers and promote quality practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software testing or quality assurance with a strong automation background.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python or Java) and experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, or equivalent).
• Experience with API testing and tools (Postman, REST API testing, or equivalent) and at least one CI/CD system (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.).
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, version control, and bug-tracking systems.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote, distributed team across Latin America; excellent communication skills.
• Nice-to-have: knowledge of cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure), Docker/Kubernetes, performance testing, security testing.
