About Nearsure
Nearsure is seeking a highly capable DevOps Engineer to join our remote-first team. This role focuses on building, scaling, and securing infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to support our applications and services. This position is remote and open to qualified candidates across Latin America.
Job Overview
As a DevOps Engineer (GCP) you will design, implement, and maintain robust cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring solutions. You will collaborate closely with software engineers, site reliability engineers, and product teams to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure deployments in a remote-first environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, provision, and manage infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to support scalable services.
- Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, etc.).
- Containerize applications using Docker and orchestrate with Kubernetes (GKE or similar).
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Deployment Manager) and code reviews for infrastructure changes.
- Ensure system reliability, performance monitoring, logging, security, and disaster recovery planning.
- Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot production issues and participate in on-call rotations as needed.
- Automate repetitive tasks with Bash/Python and improve operational efficiency.
Requirements
- 3+ years of DevOps or SRE experience with strong GCP expertise.
- Deep knowledge of Google Cloud Platform services (GKE, Cloud Run, Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, IAM, etc.).
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Deployment Manager).
- Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes, including deployment and scaling patterns.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins).
- Scripting skills (Bash, Python, or similar) and strong Linux/Unix administration.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Cloud Monitoring, Logs).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a remote team.
Nice to Have
- Experience with multi-cloud setups or additional cloud providers.
- Knowledge of cloud security best practices and IAM governance.
- Familiarity with Cloud SQL, BigQuery, or other GCP data services.
- Experience with on-call incident response and post-incident reviews.
