Position:
As a Senior Financial Analyst at Musixmatch, you will play a key role as a member of the Royalty Squad: in overseeing royalty-related financial processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and optimization of reporting and forecasting. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Data, Business, Product, Engineering, and Finance to guarantee the integrity of royalty data flows.
You will also work alongside, and support the Executive team, namely the CEO, in strategic decision-making through the exposure to different areas and responsibilities of the business (eg., corporate development, potential M&A transactions, capital allocation).
What you will do:
Analysis, review, and validation of royalty reporting processes, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and industry standards.
Interpret complex licensing agreements and translate them into accurate royalty accruals, invoices, and reporting.
Maintain and improve royalty reporting systems by configuring rate plans, product definitions, and system parameters, in coordination with data, engineering and product managers.
Partner with leadership to design and refine royalty distribution models for publishers, DSPs, and other stakeholders.
Develop advanced financial models for forecasting, budgeting, and scenario analysis.
Provide insights and recommendations to support business planning, risk management, and profitability analysis.
Act as a point of contact for external auditors and ensure compliance.
Support preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, forecasts, and variance analyses.
Identify, design, and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy of royalty management.
Requirements:
5+ years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or audit/transaction services, ideally within a Big 4 firm.
Strong track record in handling complex financial models, budgeting, forecasting, and revenue recognition.
Solid understanding of royalty management, licensing, or entertainment/media industry finance.
Proficiency in Excel and financial modeling; knowledge of BI tools is a plus.
Strong communication skills with ability to interact across functions and levels of seniority.
Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field; MBA or professional qualification (CPA/ACCA) preferred.
Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and deliver results under tight deadlines.
