Right now, we are looking for a Lead eCommerce Fullstack Developer to join our team!

About your role 

The client has recently implemented a state of the art, composable commerce web site (MACH architecture). This hands-on role, will lead the technical resources responsible for the middle ware layer of the stack, orchestrating the services between the front-end presentation layer and the service providers responsible for the core services of eCommerce.

Day to day, this role is expected to love code and coding; and have both a deep technical knowledge of implementations, and a good overview of serverless functions, orchestration of multiple services, and the benefits and challenges of these implementations. Your ability to identify challenges and creatively solve problems in a fast-paced environment will not only be welcomed but celebrated. You will be implementing best practices in your team, developing standards and reference code and mentoring other members on the team. It is expected that you will continue to develop your deep technical expertise while also having a greater input to the technical direction of the company.

This position reports to our VP, eCommerce Delivery. This position will work with team members in various locations across the Americas.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

·       Work with business partners to implement commercial grade solutions for challenges in the digital storefront space. 

·       Lead a team of engineering resources to develop and implement middleware and orchestration solutions in a MACH architecture.

·       Perform as the lead developer of the full stack implementation, helping to design and review technical solutions to real business problems.

·       Work to ensure continuous improvement in the results of the team with respect to accuracy, effectiveness and efficiency of solutions.

·       Work to ensure continuous improvement in the skills of the developers on the team.

·       Collaborate across developers, designers, product managers, testing resources, scrum masters and executives to drive system designs from concept to implementation.

·       Implement complex business challenges, identifying bottlenecks to conversion, accountable for site performance, and for helping the team deliver on aggressive schedules.

·       Communicate with peers and management.

·       Designs, codes, tests, debugs, documents and maintains a variety of solutions within the full stack of the digital storefront.

·       Provides off-hour, on-call support if necessary.

Qualifications:

• Experience with eCommerce systems with at least 7 years of experience.
• Deep understanding of MACH principles and implementation is desired.
• Strong expertise in a variety of coding languages and frameworks, and an understanding of the various strengths and weaknesses in each.
• Understanding of AWS architectures and implementations.
• Strong command of, and a passion for, implementing best practices and design patterns.
• Experience in mentoring and guiding team members.
• B.S. Computer Science or Software Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Must be able to prioritize.

Skills desired:

• In-depth understanding of MACH architecture principles and proven experience in its successful implementation.
• Proven track record of leading and hands-on experience in developing middleware solutions for composable commerce websites.
• Familiarity and practical experience with serverless functions, understanding their benefits and challenges in the context of eCommerce.
• Expertise as a lead developer in full stack implementation, with the ability to design and review technical solutions for real business problems.
• Solid understanding of AWS architectures and implementations, including practical experience in leveraging AWS services for scalable and reliable solutions.
• Strong expertise in a variety of coding languages and frameworks, with an understanding of their strengths and weaknesses. Proficiency in languages such as JavaScript, Node.js, Python, etc.
• Passion for implementing best practices and design patterns in software development, ensuring high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code.
• Proven ability to drive continuous improvement in team results, accuracy, effectiveness, and efficiency of solutions.
• Skill in orchestrating multiple services within a middleware layer to ensure seamless communication between the front-end presentation layer and core service providers. Experience with Elastic Path Commerce Cloud, Constructor.IO, or Amplience is very desirable.
• Experience as a creative champion for adoption and implementation of new technologies and capabilities.
• Self-starting personality, unafraid to display initiative and innovation on the job.  Along with the ability to prioritize, ensuring timely and successful delivery of projects.
• Strong communication skills including listening abilities.
• Good mentoring skills.
• Team player willing to share ideas with the ability to contribute to discussions passionately but objectively, while seeking and respecting differing opinions from others.
• Experience with a Retail company.
