About the role

We’re looking for an experienced and proactive People Advisor (HR Advisor) to join our People Team in Almere. As the only People representative based in the Netherlands, you’ll play a vital role in championing fair, inclusive, and consistent people practices for our local team.

Working closely with our Junior People Partner and the wider UK-based People team, you’ll offer expert advice on employee relations, ensure we meet Dutch employment requirements, and help align local practices with our Group approach. It’s a hands-on role with real impact — giving you the chance to shape a supportive, compliant, and engaging environment for our colleagues in the Netherlands.

What you'll be Doing:

  • Provide expert advice to managers and employees on employee relations issues including performance, absence, conflict resolution, and workplace policies
  • Lead and support formal ER processes such as disciplinary, grievance, and capability cases
  • Apply Dutch labor law confidently and practically, advising on necessary policy or process updates
  • Coach managers to handle people matters effectively and consistently
  • Build strong relationships to enable high-performing teams across our NL operations
  • Collaborate with the Junior People Partner and wider team to deliver impactful People Plans
  • Support People Partnering projects that align with our broader people strategy
  • Act as a local point of contact for People-related queries, directing to appropriate teams as needed
  • Provide light-touch operational support with payroll mutations and Dutch benefit applications
  • Manage ADP onboarding/offboarding (e.g. account setup, holiday tracking)
  • Maintain compliance across systems and statutory portals (e.g. UWV, Medprevent)
  • Drive clear communication and efficient processes between local teams and the wider People function
  • About You:

  • Strong knowledge of Dutch employment law and how to apply it in real-world HR scenarios
  • Solid experience as a People Advisor / HR Advisor or in a similar ER-focused role
  • Fluent in Dutch and English, with great communication skills in both
  • Confident handling complex employee relations cases from start to finish
  • Able to balance legal compliance with practical business-focused advice
  • Comfortable working independently while being part of a collaborative international team
  • Strong influencing skills with the ability to build credibility and trust at all levels
  • Highly organised and comfortable managing multiple priorities
  • Experience in a multinational or matrix organisation, adapting global frameworks to local needs (Desirable)
  • Interview Process:

  • Stage 1: Interview with the Hiring Manager – 45 mins
  • Stage 2: Interview with People Director and Head of People Operations – 45 mins
  • Site Visit: Meet the NL Team – 30 mins
