Mechanical Engineer II

📋 Description

• Independently design and develop mechanical components for exploratory prototypes and small-batch hardware.
• Create CAD models, drawings, prototype files, and docs for rapid iteration.
• Select materials, finishes, and assembly approaches balancing speed, cost, and durability.
• Apply DFM/DFMA early in concepts.
• Build, assemble, test, and troubleshoot physical prototypes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify production risks and tradeoffs.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent.
• 3+ years in mechanical engineering, prototyping, hardware development, or low-volume.
• CAD proficiency and experience creating parts, drawings, and manufacturing-ready files.
• Hands-on experience building, assembling, and testing mechanical prototypes.
• Experience applying DFM and DFA to hardware from prototype to production.
• Familiarity with 3D printing, CNC machining, sheet metal, and related processes.
