Mechanical Engineer

📋 Description

• Own R&D structural design for subsystems with rapid prototyping.
• Perform first-principles structural and thermal analyses with hand calcs and FEA.
• Execute trade studies across mechanical, fluid, and avionics to reduce risk.
• Design, build, and test prototype hardware from concept through fabrication and validation.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and test teams to transition prototypes to production-ready designs.
• Support hands-on integration, troubleshooting, and test campaigns to mature hardware.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or physics.
• 2+ years in mechanical design, analysis, and experimental testing in R&D or prototypes.
• CAD (NX preferred), FEA (Ansys preferred), and PLM (Teamcenter preferred).
• Strong hands-on experience with rapid prototyping, hardware build, and mechanical assembly.
• Experience designing/testing hardware in early development with DFM and production considerations.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time and to work extended hours as needed.
