๐Ÿ“‹ Description

  • Perform standardized mechanical tests (tensile, compression, fatigue) at cryogenic to elevated temperatures.
  • Use mechanical testing software, collect data, and generate reports.
  • Collaborate with engineering to run non-standard tests for hardware design/production.
  • Test article fabrication (machining, welding, bonding, fixturing).
  • Prepare samples and test using microscopes, SEM/EDS, FTIR, and other tools.
  • Operate machining equipment (mills, routers, lathes, grinders); CNC capable preferred.

๐ŸŽฏ Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency.
  • 1+ years in materials testing, machining, layup/bonding, or lab work.
  • Hands-on lab experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
  • Experience with material characterization equipment (SEM, FTIR) or metallography.
  • Understanding of ASTM tensile, fatigue, and fracture toughness testing fundamentals.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and perform welding/fabrication tasks.
