- Guide materials selection, testing, and analysis of adhesives and coatings
- Generate and maintain design-for-manufacturing requirements for Starship materials
- Coordinate and execute qualification testing of polymer material systems
- Support root cause investigations for adhesive/rubber/plastic failures
- Partner with engineering and production to ideate material and process improvements
🎯 Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in materials science/engineering or related
- Experience characterizing plastics, elastomers and adhesives
- Master’s/PhD in materials science or related (preferred)
- Polymer characterization: SEM-EDS, FTIR, DSC, TGA, DMA
- Familiarity with adhesives, sealants, coatings, non-metallics
- Aerospace polymer materials and processing knowledge
- Strong autonomy, ownership, and collaboration
