Materials Characterization Technician II

📋 Description

• Operate and program CNC lathes, mills, and wire EDM machines for aerospace alloys.
• Use CAD software to design/modify parts; develop CNC programs (G-code) for test coupons.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate machining equipment per aerospace standards.
• Communicate with engineering teams to translate project needs into machining solutions.
• Collaborate with teams to optimize processes and troubleshoot manufacturing issues.
• Develop and enforce standardized workflows for machining operations and hand-offs.

🎯 Requirements

• 2+ years of hands-on machining experience operating or programming CNC lathes, mills and/or EDM machines
• Experience in machine maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration to ensure optimal performance
• Experience in using inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators)
• Ability to read and verify drawings, blueprints, and specs with precision measuring tools
• Nice to have: CAD/CAM software, G-code programming, GD&T, aerospace materials experience
