Overview

Marqeta is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the Card Network Integration team. This on-site role will contribute to building reliable, scalable solutions that connect Marqeta's payments platform to major card networks. Location options include Toronto, Canada or Vancouver, Canada.

What you'll do

• Design, implement, and maintain robust card network integration interfaces and APIs.
• Build scalable, reliable distributed services with a focus on security and performance.
• Collaborate with product, security, operations, and partner teams to deliver high-quality payments solutions.
• Contribute to system architecture, code reviews, testing, and on-call rotations.
• Mentor and guide more junior engineers.

What you bring

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with a track record in payments or card networks.
• Strong experience with distributed systems, APIs, and microservices design.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Go, Python).
• Experience with security and compliance in payments (PCI-DSS) is a plus.
• Excellent collaboration and problem-solving skills.

Equity and compensation

• Equity Minimum - Premium Plus: 127,500 USD; Equity Target - Premium Plus: 191,250 USD
• Equity Minimum - Premium: 114,750 USD; Equity Target - Premium: 172,125 USD
• International OTE Range: CAD 148,900.00 - 186,100.00 - 223,300. CAD Annual
