- Oversee a team of medical editors and freelancers to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables.
- Own, train on, and uphold editorial processes and documentation.
- Collaborate with project management, medical, and design teams to meet publication and production timelines.
- Edit for flow, structure, and style across medical affairs, commercial, patient, and payor materials (manuscripts, abstracts, posters, slides, digital assets).
- Ensure deliverables comply with AMA Manual of Style and client/agency style guidelines.
- Collaborate with Medical and Scientific Services to fact-check data points and references.
🎯 Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of progressive medical or science editing experience.
- Experience directly managing a team of editors and owning editorial workflow in a medical communications setting.
- Strong understanding of the peer-review process and editorial best practices.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel); Adobe Creative Suite (Acrobat); EndNote; PubMed.
- Familiarity with Veeva annotations; Google Analytics; SEO strategies; copyright requirements and permissions.
- Experience submitting abstracts to congresses and manuscripts to journals; mock journal/congress submissions.
