Manager, Security Defense Engineering

📋 Description

• Lead and grow a team of 6 security engineers and analysts, mentoring and hiring across levels.
• Scale security infrastructure with critical systems like Vault, VPNs, LDAP, and Network IDS sensors.
• Oversee Infrastructure as Code automation, leveraging Ansible, Chef, and Terraform; evolve IAM and endpoint security.
• Maintain operational health with a sustainable on-call rotation and escalation support.
• Lead detection engineering: build robust detections and triage corporate alerts.
• Collaborate with DFIR and cross-functional teams to map detections to incidents and threat behaviors.

🎯 Requirements

• 2+ years leading a team of security engineers or analysts.
• Comfortable managing 6 direct reports across junior to staff levels.
• Deep background in Infrastructure Security, Security Operations, or Security Engineering.
• Hands-on with IAM (including ZTNA), VPNs, Vault, LDAP, and Network IDS.
• Experience with security monitoring programs and maturing enterprise defense.
• Strong communication and servant leadership with cross-functional collaboration.
