Manager, Materials Engineering

📋 Description

• Own design and validation of cathode materials for perf, cost, and manufacturability.
• Lead and mentor a team of 4+ materials engineers toward milestones.
• Collaborate with advanced manufacturing and process engineering for scale-up.
• Enforce safety with hazard mitigations, FMEA, and RCA.
• Define raw-material specs backed by component performance data.
• Work with program managers to plan schedules and track risks.
• Provide structured technical updates for leadership decisions.

🎯 Requirements

• Degree in materials science, chemical engineering, chemistry, mechanical engineering, or related.
• Experience moving materials from R&D to high-volume manufacturing, including DFM.
• Formal management experience coaching technical talent.
• Linkages between material properties and final product performance.
• DOE experience with JMP or Minitab.
• FMEA and RCA to mitigate risks.
• Travel domestically up to 15% of the time.
