Manager I, Engineering - Data Visualization Explorations

📋 Description

• Lead the Data Visualization Explorations team; set product direction and coach engineers.
• Staff and drive projects creating end-to-end experiences for observability engineers.
• Extend Hostmap/Geomap visualizations; leverage Datadog data sources.
• Collaborate with product teams to understand customer needs and data experiences.
• Define and maintain ops standards: bug triage, incident response, telemetry.
• Anticipate cross-team dependencies and reuse features across dashboards/notebooks/pages.

🎯 Requirements

• At least 2 years of people management experience in software engineering or similar.
• Strong TypeScript/JavaScript skills, including familiarity with React.
• Excellent communication, delivering clear, actionable, empathetic feedback.
• Product-oriented; focus on solving customer problems and shipping features quickly.
• Passionate about data visualization and building intuitive, performant UIs.
• Demonstrated ownership over your team's work.
