Manager, Data & AI Platform Engineering

📋 Description

• Lead in a player-coach capacity for Stitch Fix’s Data/ML/GenAI platforms.
• Build a unified, secure, scalable architecture for semantic search and automation.
• Modernize data and ML foundations to support adaptive models and AI workloads.
• Provide foundational APIs, SDKs, and self-service tools for teams to deploy AI solutions.
• Partner with Data Science, Engineering, and Product to deliver production-grade features.
• Balance speed of innovation with platform stability and business priorities.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years in software, data, ML, or platform engineering; 1+ years leading ICs is a plus.
• Demonstrated success contributing to large-scale data/ML/GenAI platforms in cloud environments.
• Experience delivering platform modernization, unification, and multi-year architectural transformation.
• Track record operating/evolving modern data infra: Spark, Trino, Iceberg; Kafka/Flink; Kubernetes.
• Expertise across the ML lifecycle: feature engineering, training pipelines, deployment, monitoring, MLOps.
• GenAI architectures: semantic retrieval, knowledge-grounded indexing, LLM orchestration, agent workflows, eval frameworks.
