Machine Learning Manager, Notifications Relevance

📋 Description

• Lead the team that architects and designs notifications relevance at Reddit.
• Guide team on holistic adaptive systems covering budgeting optimization, candidate retrieval, and ranking.
• Collaborate with ML engineers to design and optimize models for personalization and re-engagement.
• Participate in full development cycle: design, develop, QA, experiment, analyze, deploy.
• Build and maintain a diverse cross-disciplinary team to solve complex challenges.
• Serve as a thought partner to product and leadership to align plans with company goals.

🎯 Requirements

• 2+ years of experience building and managing engineering teams.
• 5+ years in ML or software engineering on large-scale ML systems.
• Deep experience with large-scale recommender systems (retrieval + ranking) in production.
• Hands-on DL models, sequential features, and real-time systems.
• Experience with distributed training/inference (Ray, PyTorch Distributed, etc.).
• Familiarity with reinforcement learning or multi-objective optimization in recommendations.
