Machine Learning Engineer, Recommendation & AI Applications

📋 Description

• Design, build, and iterate on high-throughput, low-latency recommender systems powering NewsBreak’s core feeds.
• Improve retrieval, ranking, and multi-objective optimization to balance engagement and quality.
• Own end-to-end lifecycle: offline training → online inference → A/B testing → metrics.
• Identify and resolve data quality, model drift, and production performance issues.
• Work on AI-driven initiatives applying LLMs to content understanding and user intent modeling.
• Embrace AI-assisted development workflows with LLM-powered coding and debugging.

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of industry experience building ML or recommender systems in production.
• Strong understanding of recommender fundamentals: ranking, embeddings, user/item modeling, experimentation.
• Proficient in Python, Java, and Scala; experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Experience with large-scale data and ML systems (Spark, distributed training, real-time inference).
• Ability to own features end-to-end and deliver measurable business impact.
• Bonus: AI/LLMs in recommender systems; 0→1 AI/ML product experience; AI-assisted development tools.
