About the Job
As a Junior Fraud Analyst, you will become a digital detective in the fight against financial crime, standing guard over our customers' aspirations and our company's integrity. Working at the intersection of data science and criminal investigation, you'll uncover hidden patterns in complex datasets, transform raw information into actionable intelligence, and ensure every fraudulent attempt is stopped before it can harm the communities we serve.
At M-KOPA, fraud prevention isn't just about protecting numbers—it's about preserving trust and enabling opportunity. In this role, you will go beyond traditional analysis to become a strategic guardian of financial inclusion. You will assist design detection mechanisms that not only catch today's fraudsters but anticipate tomorrow's schemes, working closely with cross-functional teams including Sales, Operations, and Technology to ensure our fraud prevention measures evolve as quickly as the threats we face.
The role involves you conducting due diligence and accurately processing all fraud tickets from Freshdesk, ensuring proper documentation and tracking on the fraud SharePoint list while maintaining high data quality and controls. It also includes carrying out phone investigations with suspects and claimants to verify the legitimacy of fraud allegations, as well as preparing and sending daily reports on ticket resolutions and audits.
Success in this role comes from a unique blend of analytical rigor and investigative instinct. We need someone who has walked the path of complex fraud detection and understands that true security lies in the ability to see patterns others miss. Your experience should tell a story of uncovering sophisticated fraud schemes that didn't just solve individual cases but strengthened entire systems.
The ideal candidate will hold certification in a fraud-related discipline, such as Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), with proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and statistical analysis. Your minimum of two years' experience in fraud prevention or analysis would give you valuable context for the evolving landscape of financial crime.
Most importantly, we need someone who embodies our values of integrity, vigilance, and unwavering commitment to justice – someone who doesn't just want a job but wants to be part of a mission that's protecting financial inclusion across an entire continent.
If this sounds like the challenge you've been waiting for, where your expertise in fraud detection and data analysis can truly make a difference in safeguarding our customers' financial futures, we want to hear your story.
At M-KOPA, we empower our people to own their careers through diverse development programs, coaching partnerships, and on-the-job training. We support individual journeys with family-friendly policies, prioritize well-being, and embrace flexibility.
