Backend Product Engineer

What we’re looking for

• 5+ years of experience designing, building & scaling backend systems for production products

• Fluency in Go, Rust, or similar backend languages, plus strong API design skills

• Deep understanding of distributed systems, scalability, reliability, and performance tradeoffs

• Proven experience integrating with frontend and ML systems to deliver product features

• Strong product instincts: you know how to balance fast delivery with building for the long term

What you’ll do

In one sentence: Build and scale the backbone of Lovable products, ensuring they’re fast, reliable, and ready to support millions of users

• Design, implement, and maintain backend services, APIs, and infrastructure components

• Own backend systems end-to-end: architecture, implementation, deployment, monitoring, and iteration

• Collaborate with frontend, ML, and product teams to translate ideas into robust, scalable features

• Contribute to shaping our backend architecture, engineering culture, and technical strategy
