About the Role:
We’re looking for a proactive and detail driven Finance & People Operations Specialist to join our fast-paced team. This role blends core financial operations with people support, making it perfect for someone who thrives at the intersection of numbers and people. You’ll play a critical role in keeping our internal systems running smoothly, from payment processes and budgeting to payroll support and employee documentation.
Responsibilities: Financial Operations:Oversee day-to-day finance activities including data entry, invoice processing, expense tracking, reimbursements, petty cash, and general account reconciliationsPrepare and submit payment requisition forms, ensuring complete and organized documentationMaintain accurate, up-to-date financial records and collaborate with external accountants for timely transaction entriesTrack and manage company budgets, flagging variances and supporting data-informed decisionsPrepare monthly reports (budget vs. actuals, cash flow statements, variance analyses) for senior leadershipSupport audits, VAT filings, and regulatory compliance in collaboration with auditors and tax consultantsContinuously improve internal finance processes and controlsUse platforms such as Xero, Alaan, Expensify, NetSuite and Excel to streamline financial data and reportingPeople Operations Support:Work closely with People team to support accurate payroll processing in coordination with payroll providersHandle employee reimbursements, bank letters, salary transfer documentation, and insurance-related paperworkMaintain confidential employee records, ensuring up-to-date documentation for payroll, visa, and complianceAssist with visa renewals, employee letters, and government portal documentation where neededAct as a liaison between People, Finance, and PRO agencies to support smooth cross-functional execution Must Haves: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field3–6 years of experience in finance or accounting rolesStrong grasp of accounting standards, financial reporting, and budgetingFamiliarity with UAE tax regulations, audit cycles, compliance frameworks and UAE Labor lawExcellent organizational discipline and attention to detailAnalytical mindset with the ability to interpret and act on financial dataConfident working independently and meeting tight deadlinesBased in the UAEFluency in English is required Nice to Have: Have experience with Oracle NetsuiteEnjoy bringing structure to fast-moving environmentsFeel just as comfortable in Excel as you do coordinating with teamsHave a bias for action and a “how can I help?” attitudeBelieve good operations are the backbone of great businesses Additional Information Orbitworks' mission is to make space simple for organizations that want to deploy physical and virtual missions to space.
