Our client, a faith-based nonprofit supporting individuals transitioning from incarceration, is seeking an Intake Specialist to be the first point of contact for prospective participants. This role focuses on targeted outreach, ensuring candidates understand program offerings and moving eligible applicants into enrollment. The Intake Specialist builds rapport, determines eligibility, collects documentation, completes background checks, coordinates transition logistics, and schedules candidates for program orientation.
Initial Entry Support
Presents, promotes, and explains program services to individuals interested in re-entry support
Addresses inquiries and, when appropriate, refers candidates to other agencies that may better meet their needs
Clearly communicates expectations and confirms attendance for scheduled orientation sessions
Administers pre-program drug screenings for incoming participants
Client Support
Conducts Records Review Workshops for enrolled clients to help them understand their background reports
Coordinates, arranges, and provides transportation (using a company vehicle) for client appointments, including transport from release locations, reentry centers, probation offices, and transitional housing facilities
Supports early morning, evening, and occasional weekend client releases as required
Community Partnership
Maintains an understanding of the re-entry population and connects clients with available community resources
Develops and sustains collaborative relationships with probation officers, correctional staff, and transitional housing partners to support client transitions
Administrative Responsibilities
Accurately enters and maintains data, records, documentation, and case files
Produces reports and consistently updates information within the Efforts-to-Outcomes (ETO) data system
