We're looking for a talented Senior Actuarial Analyst to join our Pricing team and help revolutionize car insurance. We are expanding our Car product rapidly, and you will be critical in bringing actuarial discipline to all facets of Lemonade Car—from distribution and underwriting to pricing, claims, and beyond.

In this role, you will leverage competitive data, advanced data science techniques, and your actuarial expertise to optimize our customers’ experience and ensure fairness and accuracy in our pricing models.

In this role you'll

  • Become the state owner and expert on our car insurance rating plans and rate indications, managing rate levels end-to-end

  • Craft and support actuarial rate filings for new machine learning models and cutting-edge pricing features

  • Identify opportunities for pricing and underwriting action based on proactive, ongoing monitoring of results and key performance indicators

  • Collaborate closely with our Data Science, Product, and Engineering teams to transform models into deployed, customer-facing pricing logic

  • Build and maintain a knowledge base of competitor rating strategies and the overall competitive landscape to ensure our pricing remains competitive and fair

  • Define what success looks like by interpreting pricing results and clearly communicating actionable recommendations to leadership

  • Further your professional development by pursuing CAS exams and industry research, immediately applying those learnings on the job

What you'll need

  • 3+ years of P&C actuarial experience, preferably in personal lines pricing

  • 3 CAS exams required, 4 or more preferred

  • Proficiency in database query tools such as SQL required

  • Proven ability to work with large datasets from different sources and interpret results

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field

  • General knowledge of data science programming languages such as Python or R is a plus

  • A methodical, data-informed approach and a passion for solving complex pricing problems

  • Ability to work in a remote environment

  • Enthusiasm about learning and adapting to the exciting world of AI – a commitment to exploring this field is a fundamental part of our culture

Lemonade's US base salary range for this full-time position is $110,000 - $130,000 plus equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
