Legal Knowledge Engineer

📋 Description

• Apply legal expertise and AI experience to advance Agiloft's AI roadmap.
• Collaborate with Product, Data Science, MLOps, Eng to shape AI solutions.
• Design and refine prompts to extract concepts across agreements.
• Optimize AI performance via prompt/context engineering.
• Contribute to pretrained AI models for contract analysis and use cases.
• Evaluate AI outputs for accuracy, consistency, reliability.
• Collect and curate high-quality datasets for AI training.
• Ensure features are designed for legal professionals and real-world use.
• Partner with technical writers for internal/external docs.
• Translate legal expertise into actionable cross-functional requirements.
• Participate with customers to inform and validate AI solutions.
• Act as a subject matter expert on legal knowledge engineering.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency.
• Other duties as assigned.

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of commercial legal experience or 2+ years as a legal knowledge engineer.
• JD from a law school; bar admission in US/Canada is a plus.
• Extensive experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts.
• Experience with prompt engineering and designing/refining LLM prompts.
• Familiarity with agentic AI concepts or agentic workflows is a plus.
• Experience with contract management solutions or legal operations is a plus.
• Cross-functional collaboration across legal, product, and technical teams.
• Proven ability to collaborate with peers in similar roles.
• Experience with distributed, global teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and time management.
• Able to learn new technologies quickly.
• High ownership, independence, and accountability.
• Ability to maintain overlap with Eastern Time Zone working hours.
