With a clear international growth ambition and track record (Since 2022 - Bangladash, Japan, Turkey, UAE, KSA, Germany is the next) , we are looking for a strong and driven candidate as to join our Research and Expansion Team.

The person will be responsible for participating in all activities of research and business expansion. S/he will conduct market research and on-site due diligence, validate growth opportunities from a business perspective, make strategic recommendations and execute the expansion plan accordingly. The position will be based in Hong Kong with requent business travels to our expanding markets.

What you'll do

  • Drive market, industry and company research to equip management team with relevant and up-to-date knowledge in enhancing organizational readiness when making strategic decisions
  • Conduct peer analysis and competitor due diligence across existing and new markets, while actively tracking key metrics to provide competitive advantages from a business standpoint
  • Validate new markets for Lalamove to enter by performing a combination of desktop research, stakeholder surveys, expert interviews, and on-the-ground due diligence
  • Support in executing new market launches by working side by side with local market team members and collaborating with other functions such as Product, Tech, Business Intelligence, Platform Operations, Marketing, People, Finance and Legal, among others
  • Opportunity to grow and become the launch lead of a new market
  • Inculcate Lalamove’s corporate values and culture in new markets by partnering with the People team to achieve exceptional onboarding and training of new team

    • What you'll need

  • 3+ years of experience in operations, consulting and/or corporate strategy within the TMT sector; ideally with project management experience launching new markets or products/services
  • Solid foundation of business knowledge, data-oriented and with strong critical thinking skill
  • Genuine interest in developing a career in international business and making a positive impact in our global community through technology
  • Entrepreneurial, hands-on, and resourceful; comfortable with ambiguity and operating in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment with minimal instructions; able to deep dive into the details and willing to roll up sleeves and get hands dirty to drive results and ensure success
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to partner across the business units and functions; can easily build rapport with different stakeholders and develop meaningful relationships
  • Driven, proactive and passionate about the company’s mission; culture carrier that brings positive attitude
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and openness to constructive feedback; eager to learn from mistakes and always up for new challenges
  • Business tech-savvy, with high proficiency in work tools such as Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication and presentation skills; able to interact credibly within the team and across other functions; articulate in verbal and written communication in English (as well as Mandarin, ideally)
  • Fluency in a foreign language in addition to English and Chinese is a plus
