Kubernetes Architect

📋 Description

• Own the architecture and direction of Rumble Cloud's Kubernetes-as-a-Service platform (CAPI/CAPO).
• Finalize deployment of the CAPI/CAPO provisioner with OpenStack/Magnum compatibility.
• Design and implement full cluster lifecycle: provisioning, scaling, upgrades, patching, backup/restore.
• Define and maintain day-2 operations, monitoring, alerting, and incident response for KaaS.
• Plan migrations from Magnum-based Kubernetes to CAPI/CAPO.
• Serve as top-tier escalation for complex Kubernetes issues.
• Other duties, as assigned.

🎯 Requirements

• Expert-level Kubernetes design, deploy, operate, and troubleshoot in production at scale.
• Strong knowledge of Cluster API (CAPI) and CAPO.
• Day-2 Kubernetes ops: upgrades, patching, scaling, backup/restore, monitoring.
• Deep understanding of networking (CNI), storage (CSI), and security (RBAC, PodSecurity, policies).
• Linux systems engineering; container runtimes (containerd, Docker).
• Scripting/automation (Bash, Python, Go) and IaC tools (Ansible, Terraform).
• Monitoring/observability (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/Graylog).
• Excellent communication; able to translate concepts for engineers and non-tech stakeholders; work under pressure.
• Preferred qualifications include OpenStack Kubernetes deployments, CAPO, Rancher/multi-cluster platforms, Magnum/Kubernetes integrations, Ceph/S3 storage, public cloud Kubernetes, bare-metal deployments, and Go.
• Experience with OpenStack services (Nova, Neutron, Cinder, Glance, Keystone) and CAPO.
