We’re looking for a technical, customer-facing product advocate to be the connective tissue between Kong Konnect’s product, our users, and our go-to-market teams. As a Product Advocate, you will proactively engage with high-intent prospects, help unblock technical evaluations, and turn interest into adoption by guiding developers and decision-makers through their journey.

This role is part of Kong’s product-led growth (PLG) motion—designed to help more users be successful faster by combining technical know-how with sales acumen. You’ll report to the Director of Product Growth and work closely with Sales, Product, and Marketing.

What You’ll Own

  • Proactive technical outreach: Identify and engage high-value free-tier users (PQLs) who are likely to convert, offering hands-on guidance and resources.

  • Evaluation support: Walk prospects through product capabilities, set up proof-of-concepts, and answer technical questions to accelerate time-to-value.

  • Conversion enablement: Partner with growth and sales teams to move users from free to paid plans by demonstrating how Kong Konnect solves their needs.

  • Feedback loop to product: Capture and relay structured product feedback from prospects and customers to influence roadmap priorities.

  • Advocate playbooks: Develop and refine outreach scripts, demo flows, and objection-handling guides to make technical conversations efficient and effective.

  • Cross-functional handoff: Ensure smooth transitions from PLG-driven users to sales-assisted deals, providing full context to account teams.

We Think You’ll Be a Great Fit If You:

  • Have 3+ years in a technical sales, sales engineering, developer advocacy, or product specialist role.

  • Are comfortable with APIs, developer tools, and cloud-native concepts—and can translate technical features into business value.

  • Have a proven track record of influencing technical buyers, running product demos, and managing multiple concurrent conversations.

  • Thrive on customer-facing work and can adapt communication styles for both highly technical users and business stakeholders.

  • Are proactive and data-driven—spotting patterns in product usage data and prioritizing outreach accordingly.

  • Bonus: Experience with API gateways, Kubernetes, service mesh, or related infrastructure products.
