Responsible for developing and executing strategic HR initiatives to support business
goals, fostering a positive and equitable company culture, and ensuring compliance with all employment laws. Key responsibilities include overseeing people processes, developing HR policies, using data to inform decisions and report on key metrics, ensuring data integrity in system of record. This role requires strong strategic thinking, empathy, and the ability to collaborate with executives and various departments. The role will require the building and maintenance of Kong’s workforce planning function and determining the cadence, standard templates, process flows, etc. to be used in workforce planning at Kong.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Lifecycle Management:
Manages multiple aspects of the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, handles manager and employee inquiries and requests, manages People Ops inbox.
Responsible for documenting current process flows and recommending improvements to these processes.
Policy Development:
Researches, develops, and implements org-wide HR policies and procedures.
Workforce Planning:
In partnership with Finance and Revenue Ops/Engineering Ops, develops and
maintains standard templates and processes to update workforce planning forecasts on a regular basis, using robust models that take into account historic attrition rates by job function, time to fill by location/function, hiring plans, number of Recruiters, etc. to provide the most accurate forecasts possible.
Data & Analytics:
Utilizes HR data and metrics to provide insights, inform strategic decision-making, and measure the effectiveness of HR initiatives.
Compliance and Legal:
Ensures the organization complies with federal, state, and local employment laws and
regulations.
Culture and Engagement:
Focuses on cultivating a positive, productive, and inclusive work environment, championing employee engagement and well-being.
Employee Relations:
Serves as a resource for People Business Partners on employee relations issues and helps ensure fair and consistent handling of all cases.
Collaboration:
Partners with the executive team and other departments to align HR efforts with business objectives and drive cohesive people-related initiatives.

Leadership & Strategic Thinking: Ability to provide vision and lead strategic initiatives within HR.
HR Expertise: Broad experience and in-depth knowledge across various functional areas of Human Resources.
Data Analysis: Strong analytical skills to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
Interpersonal & Communication Skills: Excellent ability to engage, influence, and communicate effectively with people at all levels.
Empathy and Discretion: Possesses a deep understanding of human dynamics and can handle sensitive information with confidentiality and poise.
Adaptability: Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
