About the Role

Kinetic Brands is looking for a Junior Product Developer to assist in the development and execution of new nail polish products from concept to post-launch. This role requires a detail-oriented and creative individual with a passion for nail polish and a strong understanding of product development processes. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, highly organized, and capable of working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

This role reports to our Product Development Supervisor.

You will

• Supporton-sitenailpolishproductdevelopmentbycollaboratingwithcross-functionalandexternalpartners
• Support the pigment and prototype processes, including preparation, monitoring, and documentation
• Assist with maintaining and updating status sheets, trackers, drawdowns, and swatches
• Help ensure quality assurance for pre-production and production, focusing on color and formula accuracy and consistency
• Assist the Senior Product Developer in recording prototype formulas, ensuring cost and regulatory compliance, and reviewing prototypes for consistency and quality
• Prepare and process prototype samples for internal and external partners
• Participate in product testing and evaluation to verify products meet performance and safety standards
• Troubleshoot development and production issues alongside the Senior Product Developer and cross-functional teams
• Stay informed on industry trends, offering innovative ideas for product development based on market research and consumer insights

You have

• Bachelor’s Degree in Design, Science, or a related field
• 1-3 years’ experience in a related field, preferably within the CPG Industry
• Superior color vision with a strong understanding of color theory highly preferred
• Proactive problem-solving abilities with the capacity to troubleshoot and escalate issues effectively
• Exceptional time management and organizational skills with ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Passion for nail polish/color cosmetics a plus

Work environment

• This role is required to be onsite at our Passaic, NJ warehouse 5 days a week
