About This Role

We are looking for a VRF Technician for the installation, service, and preventive maintenance of Variable Refrigerant Flow systems on commercial HVAC projects.

What You'll Do

  • Install, start up, commission, & service VRF systems from the major manufacturers.
  • Help with layout reviews, refrigerant line routing, equipment placement, & control strategies.
  • Troubleshoot & diagnose VRF system issues & provide effective solutions.
  • Support warranty service, documentation, & communication with OEMs.
  • Participate in system start-ups & coordinate with contractors, engineers, & clients.
  • Conduct site surveys & reports
  • Perform accurate takeoffs & assist with material planning.
  • Complete & submit required reports
  • Coordinate with the shop for material deliveries & equipment scheduling.
  • Work with estimators & design teams to provide input on VRF system layouts.
  • Recommend design improvements based on field experience.
  • Ensure all work complies with local/state codes, manufacturer requirements, & project specs.

What You'll Bring

  • 3+ years of experience in commercial HVAC, with a strong focus on VRF systems.
  • Ability to lead field teams, train junior technicians, & manage jobsites
  • EPA Universal Certification required; OSHA 30 preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Must be physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds, working in confined spaces, and climbing ladders.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical system design, refrigerant piping, & controls.
  • Familiarity with BMS integration & commissioning practices.
  • Proficient in reading & interpreting mechanical & control drawings.
  • Ability to lead diagnostics & troubleshooting efforts.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance & identifying issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in government or institutional facilities.
  • Experience with multiple VRF brands and advanced control systems.
