Senior Software Engineer

KAYAK is seeking an Engineer to join our diverse and dynamic Email Marketing Team. In this role, you’ll collaborate with engineers, product managers, and marketing specialists to design and scale a world-class marketing platform. You’ll help build and optimize systems that deliver personalized, meaningful messages to millions of users—encouraging engagement and keeping KAYAK top-of-mind for travelers.

Note: This is a hybrid work role for candidates who can join at least 3 days per week in-office.  

• Develop and improve backend services handling large-scale messaging

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve problems and build features

• Debug and optimize full-stack solutions

• Manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing needs

• Collaborate with colleagues from globally distributed teams 

• Bachelors or higher in Computer Science or a related field

• Strong proven programming skills in Java

• Experience with APIs, SQL. 

• Experience with JavaScript, React,HTML and CSS is a plus

• A collaborative mindset and openness to learning and sharing ideas 

• Work from (almost) anywhere for up to 20 days per year
