The Syndication Team Leader (Equipment Finance) is a new role within the Capital Markets Organization. This role will work in close partnership with the Kapitus Equipment Finance (KEF) Operations and Sales teams to operate and lead the syndication desk handling the exposure overflow for customer’s funded internally and customer requests outside balance sheet risk appetite. The KEF Operations team’s collective responsibilities encompass submissions, vendor evaluation, syndications and balance sheet lending. Application volume originates from 4 sales channels (Vendor, Customer, Direct Sales and ISO Referral) and processed efficiently/accurately while operating within a risk framework.

The syndication desk exists to maximize lending opportunities with relationship vendor application flow and returning existing customers through strategic transaction placement. Syndication submissions to sources are currently handled through email and portals, although the new processing system in development is expected to have API links to automate the submission function. As approvals are secured and sales closes the financing, the Doc Funding team is available to assist with the documentation and funding process with sources to return focus to securing approvals.

All Capital Markets and KEF Operations team member responsibilities will include an emphasis on internal processes and procedures ranging from partner evaluation to documentation and funding. Operations will continually strive to support origination efforts by producing quality work in a fast-paced environment and adhering to Kapitus risk policies and best practices.

What You Will Do:

  • Player coach with primary role working directly with funding sources.

  • Analyze transactions for off balance sheet placement with various sources.

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of funding source evaluation and documentation guidelines.

  • Collaborate with sales to develop transactions and further with source evaluation teams to effectively present transactions for consideration.

  • Sales acumen is encouraged while representing the KEF brand with responsible lending practices and transparency to deepen trust with funding partners.

  • Work closely with the KEF operations team to ensure opportunities are not overlooked following successful development or meaningful structure.

  • Ensuring service levels are maintained in a compliant and efficient manner

  • Participate in the hiring process for future syndication analysts and assist with evaluation of syndication desk team members

 

What We’re Looking For:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or comparable experience preferred

  • 5+ years of syndication lending experience

  • Existing relationships in place with current KEF syndication sources.

  • Well versed with business/personal credit reports and tools.

  • Operational professional team player with sales acumen.

  • Communicates decisions effectively verbally and written

  • Self-starter with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

  • Extensive industry knowledge of industries, assets and credit.

  • Efficient planning, organization and time management skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook and CRM

  • Smart, hard-working individual who wants to be an integral part of a growing equipment finance division

 

Kapitus Total Rewards Package Includes: 

 

  • Competitive Base Salary Range of $78,900-$118,300. Kapitus is providing this as a good faith salary range to comply with applicable law. The applicant’s final salary will depend on a number of factors including the candidate’s geographic location, skills, and experience.
