We are seeking skilled and experienced

CNC Setup/Operator

to add to our

JMA

team. Candidates must be able to edit programs, set up, and operate the CNC machine to perform the allocated tasks to meet targets.

This position will be located in our Liverpool, NY location.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Setup and Operate multiple CNC Machines to produce high quality precision machined components to meet/exceed established machine utilization goals.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and corrections of process related issues in order to maintain dimensional stability (e.g. Program adjustment recommendation, Axis alignment recommendation, sensor adjustment, etc.).
  • Perform 1st Piece inspections and routine in-process inspections. Document inspection results in accordance with established quality control procedures.
  • Respond to and resolve machine alarms/faults.
  • Escalate machine breakdown, quality and unresolved alarm/fault issues to CNC Shift Lead, Supervisor and/or CNC Manufacturing Engineer to minimize machine downtime.
  • Train CNC Machine Operators to be productive members of the team.
  • Perform daily housekeeping and machine maintenance tasks to ensure safe/effective machine operation.
  • Identify and execute on continuous improvement opportunities (e.g. cycle time reduction, tool life optimization, quality enhancements, etc.)
  • Follow Q&EMS Policies, Procedures and Instructions
  • Assist JMA in minimizing its impact on the environment and preventing pollution through recycling efforts defined in the waste management programs and ensuring chemicals are managed in a manner that prevents spills
  • Qualifications

  • 5 years of CNC experience set-up and operation . Multi spindle CNC machine (i.e. Buffoli, Rotary Transfer, Gildemeister, or Tornos) set-up and operation experience is strongly preferred.
  • Willingness to perform CNC operation 80-90% of the time and CNC machine setup 10-20% of the time.
  • A strong work ethic and positive attitude.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Proficient in the use of computers.
  • Experience in handling and operating test equipment.
  • Experience with SAP.
  • Experienced in troubleshooting equipment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.

    Compensation

    The US national annual hourly rate for this role is $25-$35 per hour. The range includes the hourly rate that is expected to be paid for this role. The actual hourly rate will be based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the of scope and complexity of the role, the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and knowledge, peer and market data and geographic location.
