Responsibilities

As an Associate Fire Protection Engineer, you’ll work under the guidance of licensed professionals to:

  • Deliver fire protection services including life safety code consulting, sprinkler and fire alarm design, and performance-based engineering.
  • Create plans, specifications, and inspection reports that meet top-tier professional standards.
  • Assist in the resolution of design problems by performing field investigations or inspections, detailed design work, and detailed checking of design computations done by others, or general coordination of specific design aspects into a project.
  • Identify applicable codes and standards to reference in evaluating how to respond to inquiries.
  • Analyze building codes, egress systems, fire detection and alarm systems, smoke control, and sprinkler systems.
  • Assist our Research, Development, Testing & Evaluation team with fire testing, computational analysis, and materials evaluations.
  • Prepare and present technical reports to project leaders and clients.

Requirements and Qualifications

We’re looking for candidates with:

  • A Bachelor's degree (B.S.) or higher in Fire Protection (strongly preferred), Mechanical, Civil or Architectural Engineering or other related engineering field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to write reports, collaborate and present effectively.
  • A genuine passion for advancing the science of safety and initiative to exceeding client expectations.
