Who We're Looking For

We are seeking a Technical Project Manager who brings a strong blend of project leadership, technical insight and hands-on involvement. This individual will work closely with engineering, product, business and vendor teams to deliver complex initiatives from planning through execution. Experience in QA, business analysis and software development is highly valuable, as this role requires someone who understands how technical solutions are built and how to keep teams aligned and moving forward.

The ideal candidate is organized, collaborative and proactive – someone who can anticipate risks, bring clarity to ambiguous situations and maintain steady communication with stakeholders at all levels. We are looking for a leader who excels at coordination, problem solving and driving projects to completion while continuously improving processes along the way.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business, engineering, and product teams to gather needs, clarify requirements, and align expectations
  • Translate goals and technical details into structured project plans including timelines, milestones, risks, and resource considerations
  • Oversee day-to-day project execution, supporting engineering teams by removing blockers and clarifying priorities
  • Coordinate work across cross-functional groups to ensure dependencies and integration points remain aligned
  • Manage communication, deliverables, and expectations with external vendors when applicable
  • Monitor project risks, scope changes, and issues while maintaining clear documentation and change control
  • Provide timely status updates, dashboards, and reports to stakeholders and leadership
  • Ensure quality standards are met through reviews, validation, and acceptance processes
  • Facilitate post-project analysis with metrics, retrospectives, and lessons learned
  • Support process refinement by identifying inefficiencies and recommending improvements
  • Contribute to consistent, repeatable practices across teams using Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery approaches

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience leading technical or cross-functional project teams in dynamic environments
  • Background in QA, technical business analysis, or software development with the ability to understand technical details
  • Proficiency with modern project management and collaboration tools (JIRA, Smartsheet, Asana, etc.)
  • Ability to manage both Agile and Waterfall methodologies and determine the most effective approach per project
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and navigate shifting project conditions
  • Experience working with distributed or global teams
  • Certifications such as PMP, Scrum Master, or Six Sigma are a plus

Other Information

The work hours will be approximately 8:00 am to 5:00 pm EST, depending on workload, with the occasional late night when a tight deadline calls for it. We work for security-conscious clients, thus background checks will be required. Salary dependent upon experience.
