Software Engineering Manager, Product (AI)– Invoice Cloud

Job Description:

The Software Engineering team at Invoice Cloud is dedicated to the design, build, support and innovation of the foundational software platform supporting the entire SaaS customer engagement, e-billing, and payment platform used by thousands of businesses and millions of customers. The Software Engineering Manager will provide key technical and people leadership in the team’s ongoing architectural evolution, development, and maintenance of the core platform focusing on payer & biller facing product solutions. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is passionate about building delightful customer experience products in a highly scalable, quality-focused, and secure manner, leveraging agile principles and values, test driven development and continuous integration and deployment. We are looking for a strong leader with a deep understanding of modern programming best practices, agile methodologies, and scalable enterprise solutions.

What You’ll Do

Partner with product and other engineering leaders, including technical and non-technical disciplines to develop product functional and technical strategies for the line of business product portfolio, and with more experienced product leaders to drive strategic outcomes.
Recruit and develop exceptional engineering talent.
Influence and develop Engineering best practices that drive innovation, scalability, and deliver customer satisfaction.
Provide oversight to software craftsmanship, security, availability, resilience, and scalability.
Identify and recommend opportunities for continuously improving software engineering practices and productivity of teams.
Own the metrics of scrum team(s) with a focus on delivery
Lead tactical and strategic initiatives to improve customer and employee experience.
Assist in completing department wide quarterly and annual goals and initiatives.
Assist in surfacing forward-thinking cutting-edge tools and services that will improve efficiency and productivity within agile team development.
Collaborate with AI Engineering teams to integrate AI-powered capabilities into platform and product workflows, ensuring scalability, security, and operational reliability.
Promote AI-aware engineering practices including observability, continuous benchmarking, semantic accuracy validation, and responsible data usage.

Who We Seek

4+ years of proven success as an engineering or services leader.
10+ years of hands-on experience with .NET, ReactJS
8+ years of Software Engineering experience in enterprise software development, sustaining, or services, preferably within financial services or FinTech (banking, lending, payments)
Experience managing engineers.
Experience in agile development with a focus on Scrum
Ability to engage and influence more experienced product leaders, lead systems architects, and engineering managers who are either associated with the function or affected by its outcome.
Technical experience in Saas platforms and code modernization
Strong communication skills and ability to articulate complex material to a diverse audience.
Programming experience in languages like C#, SQL, Python, PowerShell, and JavaScript, ReactJS
Experience working in highly regulated, security-focused environments (familiar with setting up controls and processes around HIPAA, PCI, SOC 2 or similar frameworks).
Experience with test-driven development (unit and integration testing) and continuous integration.
Experience with and understanding of best practices in building public, internal APIs and integration frameworks.
Experience with scalable, distributed systems using microservices and event-driven architecture.
Experience with performance tuning production architecture.
Understanding software security best practices.
Collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Self-led, capable of working with little direction.
Skilled communicator with a collaborative spirit.
Ability to guide engineering teams building features where correctness, compliance, and semantic accuracy matter, especially in regulated enterprise environments.
Familiar with responsible AI practices around data privacy, RBAC, PII minimization, explainability, hallucination monitoring, and auditability.
