Job Description – Senior AI Engineer

Position Overview

The Senior AI Engineer plays a critical role in advancing InvoiceCloud’s generative AI strategy by designing, developing, and deploying large language model (LLM) and AI-driven capabilities that enhance the InvoiceCloud platform and customer experience. This role operates at the intersection of research, engineering, and product impact, leading the end-to-end lifecycle of AI solutions from rapid prototyping through scalable production deployment.

As a technical authority, the Senior AI Engineer partners with Product, Data Science, Data Engineering, and Platform teams to translate business goals into reliable, measurable, and secure AI implementations. The role drives innovation through applied experimentation, defines reusable frameworks and standards for AI integration, and improves efficiency through automation and observability.

Success in this position means delivering customer and business outcomes by improving platform intelligence, developer velocity, and operational efficiency, while shaping the long-term technical direction for how AI is built and delivered at InvoiceCloud.

• Evaluates and prototypes emerging AI technologies including LLMs, agentic frameworks, and multimodal systems.• Leads automation using MLOps, monitoring, and self-learning pipelines.• Utilizes GenAI tools such as Azure OpenAI, LangChain, and Semantic Kernel to accelerate development and experimentation.

Customer Centric

• Designs AI-powered experiences to enhance payer engagement and personalization.• Collaborates with Product and Client Success teams to align solutions with customer needs.• Advocates for responsible AI with fairness, transparency, and trust.

Requirements

• 9 or more years of software engineering experience including 3 or more years building AI or ML or LLM-powered applications.• Proven success delivering scalable AI systems in a SaaS environment.• Expertise with Python and C# and experience with Semantic Kernel, LangChain, Azure OpenAI, Fast API, and vector databases.• Strong understanding of model evaluation, prompt tuning, inference optimization, and observability.• Excellent communication and leadership skills with experience mentoring engineers and influencing architecture.
