  • Own moving mechanism assemblies: design, analysis, sizing, assembly, testing.
  • Own DFM/DFA efforts to support volume production.
  • Support control algorithm development and tuning with cross-functional teams.
  • Support subsystem testing, including vibration, TVAC, and system characterization.
  • Contribute to best practices, processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Collaborate with subsystem, instrument, AI&T, production teams, and program managers.

🎯 Requirements

  • BS/MS/PhD in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years in a multi-disciplinary aerospace hardware environment.
  • Experience with system integration and delivery of complex hardware/software systems.
  • Experience driving trade studies and identifying system solutions.
  • Experience with precision optical/mechanical metrology, incl. autocollimators and dynamometers.
  • Experience with root cause analysis including data analysis and testing.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organization skills.
  • Excited to work in a fast-paced environment with weekly challenges.
  • Willingness to obtain a US security clearance strongly preferred.
  • Optomechanical subsystems; STOP analysis (FEA, Sigfit, Zemax) and tolerances.
  • Basic scripting for data analysis or automation (Python, C/C++).
  • Experience working in cleanrooms.
