- Own moving mechanism assemblies: design, analysis, sizing, assembly, testing.
- Own DFM/DFA efforts to support volume production.
- Support control algorithm development and tuning with cross-functional teams.
- Support subsystem testing, including vibration, TVAC, and system characterization.
- Contribute to best practices, processes, tools, and methodologies.
- Collaborate with subsystem, instrument, AI&T, production teams, and program managers.
π― Requirements
- BS/MS/PhD in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- 5+ years in a multi-disciplinary aerospace hardware environment.
- Experience with system integration and delivery of complex hardware/software systems.
- Experience driving trade studies and identifying system solutions.
- Experience with precision optical/mechanical metrology, incl. autocollimators and dynamometers.
- Experience with root cause analysis including data analysis and testing.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and organization skills.
- Excited to work in a fast-paced environment with weekly challenges.
- Willingness to obtain a US security clearance strongly preferred.
- Optomechanical subsystems; STOP analysis (FEA, Sigfit, Zemax) and tolerances.
- Basic scripting for data analysis or automation (Python, C/C++).
- Experience working in cleanrooms.
