We are seeking a
Director of Product Design to join our highly collaborative design team. You will lead a team of designers in our Insights & Action squad, partnering closely with Product Management and Engineering leaders to define and shape a holistic experience of how our users access, manage, and pull insights from data generated across our product platform.Additionally, as a leadership member in our Budapest office, you will also be responsible for contributing to the evolution of our design team and mentoring 15+ designers in this location. You will provide design guidance and feedback, identify gaps and inefficiencies, monitor team health, and implement process improvements for the team.
What you will be doing: Partner closely with the Insights & Action Product and Engineering leaders to set the overall strategy for how data and insights are woven throughout our end-to-end platform experience for Admins and EducatorsLeverage AI and other emerging technologies to create innovative and intuitive product design experiences that lead to measurable outcomesOversee a small but mighty team of designers that focuses on the product spaceProvide feedback and direction on UX solutions, visual design and UI, and ensure high quality workProvide professional growth coaching to elevate and retain top talentPartner closely with your fellow design leaders to establish operational structures and best practices across our entire Product Design teamCommunicate and evangelize the overall product vision, roadmap, and priorities to focus both the design team and partnersBe a point person for all designers based in Budapest; establish a culture that emphasizes high design quality, rapid iterations, and data-based decision making You will have: At least 10+ years of experience designing for digital products with fluency in both UX/interaction design as well as UI/visual designAt least 3+ years of managerial experience with strong experience mentoring and coaching designers in their professional growthPrevious experience collaborating with Product and Engineering to define the product roadmap and strategyA portfolio representing you and/or your team’s best design work (UX and visual) on complex digital productsExperience leveraging AI to amplify the experience of product featuresExperience using AI tools to accelerate the design to development process (e.g. Figma Make, Lovable.ai, Bolt, etc.)Work that includes data heavy and data visualization examples strongly preferredPrevious experience working in the EdTech space a bonusVery strong storytelling skills; experience presenting to executive and senior leadershipStrong art direction skills and visual UI experienceStrong problem solving skillsStrong communication skills, both verbal and writtenStrong work ethic, sense of accountability and ownershipStrong attention to detail and a systematic thinkerDeep knowledge and experience designing for A11y best practicesGreat team player who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environmentBiased to action, with the ability to iterate rapidly Get in on all the awesome at Instructure!
