The Director of Procurement will own all direct and indirect procurement activities for Insomnia Cookies, leading strategic sourcing, supplier management, and purchasing execution across ingredients, packaging, equipment, fixtures, and services. This role is critical to enabling cost optimization, supply assurance, and scalable vendor partnerships as we grow. This role will report to the VP of Supply Chain & Procurement.
At the outset, this role will not have direct reports but will be tasked with building out a high-performing procurement team over time. The Director will establish foundational processes, tools, and supplier strategies that will serve as the basis for future team expansion.
This leader will own key elements of the sourcing and contract management process and collaborate closely with Supply Chain, Marketing, R&D (Cookievation), Finance, Real Estate and Operations to ensure supplier strategies align with business goals.

Key Responsibilities: Strategic Sourcing & Procurement:Lead development and execution of sourcing strategies for all direct (ingredients, packaging) and indirect (fixtures, equipment, services) spend categoriesDesign and implement a Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) process, establishing a central repository for supplier data, scorecards, agreements, and contacts, with a roadmap for integration into the company’s ERP systemOversee RFP/RFQ processes, supplier selection, contract negotiation, and performance managementPartner with Legal to refine and execute master service agreements and purchasing contractsProactively lead cost reduction, process improvement, and value engineering initiatives across categoriesBenchmark supplier pricing and performance to ensure market competitivenessSupplier Management & Performance:
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost, delivery, and innovation targets are metEstablish and monitor supplier KPIs, conducting quarterly business reviews and corrective action planning as neededDrive supplier development programs to strengthen capabilities and reduce supply riskOperational Procurement Execution:
Oversee tactical buying activities to ensure on-time availability of goods and services to meet operational needsAlign purchase planning with demand forecasts, store development timelines, and promotional calendarsPartner with Supply Chain to ensure inventory policies align with supplier lead times and production schedulesFinancial Stewardship & Reporting:
Partner with Finance to track, document, and report procurement-driven savings and cost avoidanceMonitor and manage procurement budgets, ensuring accuracy in cost forecasting and accrualsPeriodically review vendor invoices for accuracy and compliance with contract termsS&OP & Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Serve as the procurement lead in the monthly S&OP cycle, providing supply risk, cost, and lead time insightsCollaborate with Marketing and R&D on new product introductions to source and qualify suppliers in alignment with launch timelinesWork with Operations and Development to support store openings, remodels, and equipment upgradesKPIs:
